We are absolutely delighted to pick up a Bristol Diversity Award on Saturday evening for our contribution to LGBT sport in Bristol. We're especially touched to have been recognised when we were nominated alongside the phenomenal Bristol Bisons RFC and the Bristol Women's Badminton Group - two clubs that do so much to enrich sporting life in this city.
This has been an amazing year for the Panthers. We're celebrating our tenth anniversary, we've rejoined the GFSN football league (and this Saturday we could secure our promotion!), and we forged an historic partnership with Bristol City FC - making us only the second LGBT football team in the country to be affiliated to an English Football League professional team. But throughout, we've tried to hold on to our core mission: to provide a friendly and welcoming space for LGBT people in Bristol to make friends and learn to play football.
We're looking forward to many years ahead working with clubs across the city and across different sports to help LGBT people in Bristol feel welcome in sport - whether as a player or a supporter. And the Bristol City Panthers will always be a club where everyone is welcome: whatever your ability, sexuality or gender identity.
#footballforall - always.
